"Ed Byrne has got engaged to his girlfriend of four years, publicist Claire Walker, while on tour in New Zealand. He announced the news during his show in Christchurch, bringing his bride-to-be out onto the stage."
Ed is currently performing in New Zealand and so along with a great interview for the Stuff website, we also get a photo of his new haircut. Here's hoping his fans over that side of the world aren't expecting to see the long locks he has on his posters!
As Ed Byrne performs in the Melbourne Festival, Sally Browne chats to the Irish comic for The Sunday Mail (April 15th 2007):
"It's well known that comedians draw from life. When Irish comedian Ed Byrne is out with his girlfriend and says something funny, he'll try to remember it the next day to use in a routine. But what happens when a bunch of comedians are being funny together? Who gets to take home the jokes?"
I don't know whether this is embarrassing or hilarious but it's certainly worth watching! It's Ed Byrne performing as Prince on Fullmooners, Andrew Maxwell's late night show at the Comedy Store in London:
I was already intrigued by the cover article on Mitchell and Webb, talking about their acting and comedy careers as well as, inevitably, their newer roles as PC and Mac. Snuggled amongst this article however was a smaller section mentioning other comedians who have become known for various adverts, and, well...
I don't know if you know this (you probably do!) but Ed Byrne features on an extra of the Dara O'Briain Live DVD. Basically, they play a drinking game together whilst watching back Dara's show. It lasts half an hour and it's very informative and very, very funny.
The DVD is currently selling at £6 in the HMV sale so it's well worth picking up!
Hello, I'm new to this community. Obviously I'm a big fan of Ed Byrne, otherwise I wouldn't have joined. ^_^
I was just wondering if anyone's been to see Ed on his current tour, or if they are going to see his tour in the near future? Also, has anyone here ever met him? I shall be going to see him on November 25th at Doncaster Civic Theatre. I can't wait, it will be trememdous.
